How does the patented technology behind nfant® Thrive work?
The nfant Thrive System leverages the same patented technology we’ve been using in top-ranking pediatric hospitals and NICUs across the U.S. for years.
Measuring muscle movement
Each time your baby feeds, a complex set of muscle movements takes place, driven by your baby’s tongue. This suck-swallow-breathe pattern involves careful coordination among the lips, jaw and hard/soft palate. The nfant® Thrive Smart Bottle measures and tracks these movements with a cantilever that fits into the top of the nipple.

Converting movements to data
As your baby sucks on the nipple and swallows, these muscle movements cause the cantilever to move and gently tap the drum at the bottom of the bottle. The bluetooth-enabled Smart Sensor is connected to this piece.

Analyzing biofeedback data
The Smart Sensor on the bottom of the bottle wirelessly transmits these movement patterns to the Tracker App, which translates them into key metrics that show how well your baby is feeding.

Creating your baby’s profile
Data from each feeding gets recorded in your baby’s profile. You can allow multiple caregivers to record your baby’s feedings – such as a nanny – on their own phone. You control who can see and access your baby’s information.

Learn about Connected Feeding
We carefully developed our nfant Tracker App to train parents how to read feeding cues, assess their baby’s needs, determine nipple flow rate, choose the right feeding position and time daily feedings.

Optimize to your
baby
The nfant® Tracker App guides you through selecting the best way to hold your baby during feedings to maximize comfort for you and your little one. You can even make changes to your position and see in real time how your baby’s feeding performance is impacted.

Choose the right
nipple
The nfant® Tracker App uses your baby’s data to help you determine the best nipple flow rate. It even helps you predict when it may be time to change nipple flow rates, such as switching to a faster flow nipple.

Share data with medical professionals
You can share your baby’s feeding data with your pediatrician or other feeding specialists who may be working with you and your baby. If you choose to book a telehealth visit with one of our own lactation consultants or feeding experts, you can also share your baby’s data to enhance your experience.
